Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Banking, Media and Chemicals sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite lost 1.10%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were AS Company SA (AT:ASCr), which rose 4.70% or 0.031 points to trade at 0.691 at the close. Meanwhile, FHL I Kiriakidis Marbles and Granites SA (AT:KRKr) added 3.80% or 0.130 points to end at 3.550 and Techn Olympic (AT:OLYr) was up 2.54% or 0.030 points to 1.230 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Centric Hold (AT:DESr), which fell 6.93% or 0.007 points to trade at 0.094 at the close. Papoutsanis (AT:PSALr) declined 6.00% or 0.009 points to end at 0.141 and Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) was down 4.84% or 0.009 points to 0.177.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 56 to 31 and 23 ended unchanged.
Shares in FHL I Kiriakidis Marbles and Granites SA (AT:KRKr) rose to all time highs; gaining 3.80% or 0.130 to 3.550. Shares in Techn Olympic (AT:OLYr) rose to 52-week highs; rising 2.54% or 0.030 to 1.230.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.82% or 9.95 to $1230.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.87% or 0.47 to hit $53.36 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 1.16% or 0.66 to trade at $56.15 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.43% to 1.0737, while EUR/GBP fell 0.22% to 0.8623.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.35% at 100.04.
