Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Banking, Retail and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite declined 0.93%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Select Textile (AT:EPIr), which rose 9.64% or 0.019 points to trade at 0.216 at the close. Meanwhile, Athens Medical (AT:AMCr) added 9.17% or 0.110 points to end at 1.310 and Autohellas (AT:AUTr) was up 5.75% or 1.00 points to 18.40 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Attica Bank SA (AT:BOAr), which fell 9.17% or 0.011 points to trade at 0.109 at the close. Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr) declined 6.53% or 0.0160 points to end at 0.2280 and Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) was down 5.83% or 0.013 points to 0.210.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 60 to 53 and 8 ended unchanged.
Shares in Athens Medical (AT:AMCr) rose to 5-year highs; up 9.17% or 0.110 to 1.310. Shares in Autohellas (AT:AUTr) rose to 5-year highs; rising 5.75% or 1.00 to 18.40.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.52% or 6.48 to $1252.28 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.55% or 0.66 to hit $43.19 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 1.92% or 0.86 to trade at $45.68 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.07% to 1.1160, while EUR/GBP fell 0.03% to 0.8810.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 97.21.
