Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Retail, Basic Resources and Banking sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite declined 0.92%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Athens Medical (AT:AMCr), which rose 6.41% or 0.042 points to trade at 0.697 at the close. Meanwhile, Quest Holdings (AT:IQTr) added 6.15% or 0.280 points to end at 4.830 and Papoutsanis (AT:PSALr) was up 6.03% or 0.007 points to 0.123 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Halcor (AT:XAKO), which fell 13.03% or 0.040 points to trade at 0.267 at the close. Select Textile (AT:EPIr) declined 9.80% or 0.015 points to end at 0.138 and Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr) was down 6.98% or 0.044 points to 0.586.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 56 to 33 and 12 ended unchanged.
Gold for August delivery was down 0.35% or 4.65 to $1327.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.18% or 0.08 to hit $45.60 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.04% or 0.02 to trade at $47.35 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.52% to 1.1063, while EUR/GBP rose 0.52% to 0.8363.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.49% at 96.57.
