Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Retail, Basic Resources and Oil & Gas sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite fell 0.15%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr), which rose 22.50% or 0.0270 points to trade at 0.1470 at the close. Meanwhile, Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) added 7.69% or 0.010 points to end at 0.140 and Centric Hold (AT:DESr) was up 7.22% or 0.007 points to 0.104 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Papoutsanis (AT:PSALr), which fell 9.92% or 0.013 points to trade at 0.118 at the close. Flexopack SA (AT:FLXr) declined 7.44% or 0.1800 points to end at 2.2400 and Techn Olympic (AT:OLYr) was down 5.56% or 0.036 points to 0.611.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 50 to 40 and 15 ended unchanged.
Shares in Papoutsanis (AT:PSALr) fell to all time lows; down 9.92% or 0.013 to 0.118. Shares in Techn Olympic (AT:OLYr) fell to all time lows; losing 5.56% or 0.036 to 0.611.
Gold for August delivery was up 0.89% or 12.15 to $1370.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.34% or 0.16 to hit $46.44 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.63% or 0.30 to trade at $47.66 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.05% to 1.1082, while EUR/GBP rose 1.02% to 0.8591.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.02% at 96.25.
