Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Food, Banking and Retail sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite declined 0.08%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Flexopack SA (AT:FLXr), which rose 6.12% or 0.1500 points to trade at 2.6000 at the close. Meanwhile, Hell.Exchanges (AT:EXCr) added 5.96% or 0.28 points to end at 4.98 and Centric Hold (AT:DESr) was up 4.85% or 0.005 points to 0.108 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Lykos Inform. (AT:LYKr), which fell 9.90% or 0.05 points to trade at 0.45 at the close. Alpha Bank SA (AT:ACBr) declined 4.00% or 0.080 points to end at 1.920 and Autohellas (AT:AUTr) was down 3.34% or 0.38 points to 11.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 46 to 39 and 9 ended unchanged.
Gold for June delivery was up 1.05% or 13.10 to $1263.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.26% or 0.12 to hit $45.45 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.55% or 0.26 to trade at $47.19 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.05% to 1.1317, while EUR/GBP fell 0.26% to 0.7766.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.40% at 94.00.
