Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Media, Banking and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite added 2.81%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were National Bank of Greece (AT:NBGr), which rose 9.52% or 0.02 points to trade at 0.23 at the close. Meanwhile, Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) added 9.32% or 0.015 points to end at 0.176 and Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr) was up 7.74% or 0.041 points to 0.571 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Centric Hold (AT:DESr), which fell 8.74% or 0.009 points to trade at 0.094 at the close. Select Textile (AT:EPIr) declined 3.64% or 0.006 points to end at 0.149 and AS Company SA (AT:ASCr) was down 2.24% or 0.015 points to 0.655.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 72 to 32 and 17 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.34% or 4.25 to $1232.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 1.70% or 0.90 to hit $53.90 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 1.78% or 0.99 to trade at $56.62 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.32% to 1.0625, while EUR/GBP fell 0.20% to 0.8508.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.19% at 100.85.
