Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Household, Banking and Basic Resources sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite rose 1.70%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Flexopack SA (AT:FLXr), which rose 15.83% or 0.3800 points to trade at 2.7800 at the close. Meanwhile, Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) added 6.72% or 0.009 points to end at 0.143 and Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr) was up 6.67% or 0.0090 points to 0.1440 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Euro Reliance (AT:EREr), which fell 3.74% or 0.070 points to trade at 1.800 at the close. Halcor (AT:XAKO) declined 3.65% or 0.014 points to end at 0.370 and Papoutsanis (AT:PSALr) was down 2.50% or 0.003 points to 0.117.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 73 to 35 and 10 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was down 2.11% or 27.70 to $1285.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.14% or 0.07 to hit $48.88 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.45% or 0.23 to trade at $51.12 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.47% to 1.1158, while EUR/GBP rose 0.21% to 0.8752.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.65% at 96.27.
