Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Banking, Utilities and Retail sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite added 1.60%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr), which rose 14.29% or 0.0210 points to trade at 0.1680 at the close. Meanwhile, Flexopack SA (AT:FLXr) added 7.87% or 0.2100 points to end at 2.8800 and Ellaktor SA (AT:HELr) was up 7.41% or 0.100 points to 1.450 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Select Textile (AT:EPIr), which fell 16.81% or 0.020 points to trade at 0.099 at the close. Papoutsanis (AT:PSALr) declined 5.26% or 0.006 points to end at 0.108 and Intralot (AT:INLr) was down 1.89% or 0.017 points to 0.881.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 64 to 24 and 15 ended unchanged.
Shares in Select Textile (AT:EPIr) fell to all time lows; losing 16.81% or 0.020 to 0.099. Shares in Papoutsanis (AT:PSALr) fell to all time lows; down 5.26% or 0.006 to 0.108.
Gold for August delivery was up 0.15% or 2.10 to $1360.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.31% or 0.14 to hit $45.27 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.30% or 0.14 to trade at $46.62 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.03% to 1.1047, while EUR/GBP fell 0.26% to 0.8501.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.31% at 96.61.
