Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Utilities, Travel and Construction sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite rose 1.18%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Ellaktor SA (AT:HELr), which rose 9.73% or 0.110 points to trade at 1.240 at the close. Meanwhile, Athens Medical (AT:AMCr) added 8.67% or 0.052 points to end at 0.657 and Iaso (AT:IASr) was up 6.38% or 0.033 points to 0.550 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Revoil Petrol (AT:REVr), which fell 5.62% or 0.019 points to trade at 0.319 at the close. AS Company SA (AT:ASCr) declined 2.64% or 0.021 points to end at 0.773 and Papoutsanis (AT:PSALr) was down 2.50% or 0.004 points to 0.155.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 70 to 37 and 18 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.69% or 8.45 to $1207.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 1.64% or 0.87 to hit $52.27 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 1.38% or 0.77 to trade at $55.15 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.11% to 1.0554, while EUR/GBP rose 0.27% to 0.8684.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.25% at 102.06.
