Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Insurance, Retail and Banking sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite added 1.09%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were A.S. Company (AT:ASCr), which rose 11.21% or 0.036 points to trade at 0.357 at the close. Meanwhile, Euroconsultants SA (AT:ERCr) added 7.53% or 0.1100 points to end at 1.5700 and Quest Holdings (AT:IQTr) was up 6.52% or 0.27 points to 4.41 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Iaso (AT:IASr), which fell 6.85% or 0.035 points to trade at 0.476 at the close. Intralot (AT:INLr) declined 2.94% or 0.03 points to end at 0.99 and Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr) was down 2.75% or 0.03 points to 1.06.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 71 to 24 and 8 ended unchanged.
Shares in Intralot (AT:INLr) fell to 3-years lows; losing 2.94% or 0.03 to 0.99.
Gold for June delivery was down 0.65% or 8.45 to $1283.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.55% or 0.24 to hit $43.89 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.07% or 0.03 to trade at $45.00 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.06% to 1.1491, while EUR/GBP rose 0.39% to 0.7941.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.27% at 93.27.
