Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Utilities, Banking and Construction sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite added 1.08% to hit a new 52-week high.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Attica Bank SA (AT:BOAr), which rose 17.78% or 0.008 points to trade at 0.053 at the close. Meanwhile, Flexopack SA (AT:FLXr) added 10.00% or 0.4000 points to end at 4.4000 and Select Textile (AT:EPIr) was up 9.71% or 0.017 points to 0.192 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Centric Hold (AT:DESr), which fell 5.22% or 0.006 points to trade at 0.109 at the close. AS Company SA (AT:ASCr) declined 4.10% or 0.050 points to end at 1.170 and Hygeia (AT:HYGr) was down 2.76% or 0.008 points to 0.282.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 58 to 43 and 20 ended unchanged.
Shares in Flexopack SA (AT:FLXr) rose to 3-years highs; gaining 10.00% or 0.4000 to 4.4000.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.17% or 2.13 to $1265.07 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.28% or 0.14 to hit $49.70 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.19% or 0.10 to trade at $52.47 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.49% to 1.0880, while EUR/GBP fell 0.51% to 0.8468.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.31% at 99.03.
