Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Basic Resources, Banking and Utilities sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite rose 0.59% to hit a new 3-months high.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Halcor (AT:XAKO), which rose 5.36% or 0.015 points to trade at 0.295 at the close. Meanwhile, Korres (AT:KRRr) added 4.24% or 0.14 points to end at 3.44 and Centric Hold (AT:DESr) was up 3.92% or 0.004 points to 0.106 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were A.S. Company (AT:ASCr), which fell 7.56% or 0.027 points to trade at 0.330 at the close. Marfin Invest (AT:MRFr) declined 4.08% or 0.006 points to end at 0.141 and Iaso (AT:IASr) was down 4.04% or 0.021 points to 0.499.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 56 to 42 and 13 ended unchanged.
Gold for June delivery was down 2.02% or 26.15 to $1267.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 2.28% or 1.02 to hit $43.64 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 3.15% or 1.43 to trade at $43.94 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.01% to 1.1403, while EUR/GBP rose 0.22% to 0.7918.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.23% at 94.05.
