Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Household and Banking sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite added 0.54% to hit a new 52-week high.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Select Textile (AT:EPIr), which rose 8.67% or 0.013 points to trade at 0.163 at the close. Meanwhile, Athens Medical (AT:AMCr) added 6.00% or 0.036 points to end at 0.648 and Elliniki Technodomiki Anemos SA (AT:ANEMr) was up 5.88% or 0.060 points to 1.080 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Centric Hold (AT:DESr), which fell 3.96% or 0.004 points to trade at 0.097 at the close. Intracom Hold (AT:INRr) declined 2.14% or 0.007 points to end at 0.320 and Lamda Develop (AT:LMDr) was down 1.66% or 0.080 points to 4.730.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 51 to 43 and 16 ended unchanged.
Shares in Elliniki Technodomiki Anemos SA (AT:ANEMr) rose to 52-week highs; rising 5.88% or 0.060 to 1.080.
Gold for February delivery was up 0.58% or 6.95 to $1203.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 1.34% or 0.70 to hit $52.95 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 1.56% or 0.86 to trade at $55.96 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.73% to 1.0660, while EUR/GBP rose 0.60% to 0.8720.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.69% at 101.00.
