Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Telecoms, Oil & Gas and Banking sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite added 0.37%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Hellenic Telec (AT:OTEr), which rose 10.00% or 0.65 points to trade at 7.15 at the close. Meanwhile, Ellaktor (AT:HELr) added 8.72% or 0.130 points to end at 1.620 and Attica Bank (AT:BOAr) was up 7.69% or 0.004 points to 0.056 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were J. & P. Avax (AT:AVAr), which fell 16.00% or 0.080 points to trade at 0.420 at the close. Jumbo (AT:BABr) declined 7.69% or 0.500 points to end at 6.000 and Frigoglass (AT:FRIr) was down 5.98% or 0.11 points to 1.73.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 37 to 37 and 2 ended unchanged.
Shares in J. & P. Avax (AT:AVAr) fell to all time lows; down 16.00% or 0.080 to 0.420. Shares in Jumbo (AT:BABr) fell to 52-week lows; falling 7.69% or 0.500 to 6.000.
Gold for August delivery was up 2.32% or 27.30 to $1204.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.86% or 0.52 to hit $60.85 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.85% or 0.55 to trade at $64.42 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.66% to 1.1413, while EUR/GBP rose 0.30% to 0.7182.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.56% at 93.95.
