Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Construction, Retail and Oil & Gas sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite rose 0.26% to hit a new 52-week high.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Ellaktor SA (AT:HELr), which rose 9.23% or 0.120 points to trade at 1.420 at the close. Meanwhile, Gek Terna (AT:HRMr) added 6.53% or 0.160 points to end at 2.610 and J. & P. Avax (AT:AVAr) was up 4.21% or 0.020 points to 0.495 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Jumbo SA (AT:BABr), which fell 3.07% or 0.460 points to trade at 14.540 at the close. Hygeia (AT:HYGr) declined 2.08% or 0.005 points to end at 0.235 and Elliniki Technodomiki Anemos SA (AT:ANEMr) was down 1.67% or 0.020 points to 1.180.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 59 to 39 and 17 ended unchanged.
Shares in Gek Terna (AT:HRMr) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 6.53% or 0.160 to 2.610.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.43% or 5.35 to $1253.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 1.06% or 0.54 to hit $51.69 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.94% or 0.51 to trade at $54.87 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.10% to 1.0653, while EUR/GBP fell 0.16% to 0.8528.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.08% at 100.54.
