Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Utilities, Retail and Chemicals sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite rose 0.22% to hit a new 52-week high.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were AS Company SA (AT:ASCr), which rose 18.90% or 0.186 points to trade at 1.170 at the close. Meanwhile, Papoutsanis (AT:PSALr) added 16.27% or 0.027 points to end at 0.193 and Centric Hold (AT:DESr) was up 6.67% or 0.007 points to 0.112 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were MLS Multimedia (AT:MLSr), which fell 2.82% or 0.120 points to trade at 4.130 at the close. Intracom Hold (AT:INRr) declined 2.70% or 0.011 points to end at 0.397 and Greek Organisation of Football Prognostics SA (AT:OPAr) was down 1.81% or 0.165 points to 8.945.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 59 to 38 and 25 ended unchanged.
Shares in AS Company SA (AT:ASCr) rose to 5-year highs; up 18.90% or 0.186 to 1.170.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.31% or 3.85 to $1253.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 1.17% or 0.61 to hit $52.85 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.96% or 0.53 to trade at $55.77 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.08% to 1.0599, while EUR/GBP fell 0.39% to 0.8532.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.12% at 100.96.
