Detroit’s Ford Motor (NYSE:F) announced Friday that they are recalling 870,000 of their F-150 trucks throughout the U.S. after finding that the vehicle’s electric parking brake is at risk of unexpected activation due to a potential wiring issue.

According to a filing with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the recall applies to F-150 trucks from model years 2021 to 2023. The recall specifically targets trucks with a single exhaust system. The issue involves potential damage to the wiring harness due to contact with the rear axle housing, which can lead to the electric parking brake unexpectedly activating, as reported by the automaker.

While the company is not aware of any crashes or injuries related to the issue, Ford said it has received 918 warranty claims and three field reports about the wire chafing issue in North America. Out of those, 299 cases had the electric parking brake going off unexpectedly, including 19 while driving.

Dealers will install a protective tie strap, tape wrap and replace the harness as necessary.

Shares of F are down 3.64% in morning trading on Friday.
