Investing.com – Finland stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Consumer Goods and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 added 3.24%.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Kemira Oyj (HE:KEMIRA), which rose 7.36% or 0.73 points to trade at 10.65 at the close. Meanwhile, Valmt (HE:VALMT) added 4.60% or 0.51 points to end at 11.60 and Nokian Renkaat Oyj (HE:NRE1V) was up 4.46% or 1.40 points to 32.80 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Orion Oyj B (HE:ORNBV), which rose 1.03% or 0.35 points to trade at 34.49 at the close. Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V) added 1.09% or 0.0400 points to end at 3.7260 and YIT Oyj (HE:YTY1V) was up 1.50% or 0.10 points to 6.42.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Helsinki Stock Exchange by 144 to 32 and 12 ended unchanged.
Shares in Valmt (HE:VALMT) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 4.60% or 0.51 to 11.60.
Brent oil for August delivery was up 2.66% or 1.31 to $50.48 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 2.62% or 1.27 to hit $49.83 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.42% or 5.45 to trade at $1289.35 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.29% to 1.1310, while EUR/GBP fell 1.90% to 0.7704.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.57% at 93.76.
