Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Technology, Utilities and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 1.19%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Ageas (BR:AGES), which rose 0.52% or 0.190 points to trade at 36.390 at the close. Meanwhile, Solvay SA (BR:SOLB) added 0.21% or 0.25 points to end at 119.85 and bpost NV (BR:BPOST) was up 0.07% or 0.01 points to 21.39 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Telenet Group (BR:TNET), which fell 2.73% or 1.67 points to trade at 59.48 at the close. KBC (BR:KBC) declined 2.19% or 1.520 points to end at 67.890 and NV Bekaert SA (BR:BEKB) was down 2.08% or 0.97 points to 45.94.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 80 to 37 and 11 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.29% or 3.71 to $1267.69 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.98% or 0.45 to hit $46.28 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.83% or 0.40 to trade at $48.55 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.04% to 1.1200, while EUR/GBP rose 0.85% to 0.8853.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.01% at 97.25.
