Investing.com -- Ron Klain, a former top advisor to U.S. President Joe Biden, has been appointed as chief legal officer of Airbnb (NASDAQ:ABNB), the short-term accommodation rental service announced on Monday.
In a statement, the company said Klain would start in the role on Jan. 1 and report to Airbnb chief Brian Chesky.
“Ron is both a big-picture strategic thinker and a highly skilled operator, and I’m thrilled he’ll be a close advisor,” Chesky said.
Klain previously served as chief of staff -- a crucial White House position that is partly responsible for driving policy plans -- to President Biden during the first two years of his administration. Before that, Klain was chief of staff to former Vice President Al Gore and to Biden when he was vice president under President Barack Obama.
He will be leaving a post as a partner at O'Melveny & Myers, the law firm he rejoined following his departure from the White House earlier this year.
