NHL roundup: Blues snatch OT win against Kings

David Perron's second goal of the night tied the game with 44 seconds left in regulation and Mike Hoffman scored 1:30 into overtime to lift the visiting St. Louis Blues to a 3-2 victory over the Los Angeles Kings on Friday.

Ryan O'Reilly (NASDAQ:ORLY) had three assists for the Blues, who won their fourth consecutive game. Ville Husso made 28 saves to earn the victory.

Dustin Brown and Jeff Carter scored for the Kings, who have lost four straight games (0-2-2). Calvin Petersen made 19 saves in defeat.

With Husso pulled for an extra attacker, Perron tied the game with a wrist shot from the right dot late in regulation. Hoffman won the game with a slap shot from the right circle with Husso out of the net again and the Blues playing four-on-three during a delayed penalty.

Blackhawks 4, Lightning 3 (SO)

Malcolm Subban stopped 39 shots during regulation and overtime and denied all three shots during a shootout as host Chicago held on to defeat Tampa Bay.

Subban made 34 saves during regulation and five in overtime. Alex DeBrincat scored twice for Chicago and Dominik Kubalik scored once. Patrick Kane and Adam Boqvist notched two assists apiece. Philipp Kurashev was the only player to score during the shootout.

Anthony Cirelli, Alex Killorn and Ryan McDonagh scored for the Lightning, who saw their six-game winning streak end. Killorn added an assist, and Ondrej Palat had two helpers.

Avalanche 3, Ducks 2 (OT)

Valeri Nichushkin scored at 2:45 of overtime as Colorado beat Anaheim in Denver. Nichushkin finished with two goals, Brandon Saad had a goal and two assists and Philipp Grubauer stopped 26 shots for the Avalanche.

Colorado played without star center Nathan MacKinnon, who was cleared to go after the morning skate but was held out of the lineup. MacKinnon took a hit to the head at San Jose on Wednesday night.

Adam Henrique and Jakob Silfverberg scored goals and John Gibson made 31 saves for the Ducks.

Golden Knights 5, Sharks 4 (OT)

Max Pacioretty scored two goals, including the winner 1:25 into overtime, as Vegas prevailed at San Jose for its fifth win in a row.

Reilly Smith, Chandler Stephenson and Alex Tuch also scored for the Golden Knights. Mark Stone logged two assists. Oscar Dansk, making his first appearance of the season after Marc-Andre Fleury started each of Vegas' past 10 games, made 25 saves and got the victory despite a late gaffe.

Brent Burns, Matt Nieto, Logan Couture and Kevin Labanc scored and Erik Karlsson had two assists for the Sharks, who dropped to 1-3-1 on their seven-game homestand.

Bruins 5, Capitals 1

Brad Marchand collected two goals and an assist and Jaroslav Halak made 31 saves to lift host Boston over Washington.

Patrice Bergeron scored and set up a goal, Trent Frederic and Nick Ritchie also tallied and defenseman Charlie McAvoy notched two assists as the Bruins improved to 2-0-2 against Washington this season.

Jakub Vrana scored his third goal in four games and Nicklas Backstrom recorded his 700th career assist for the Capitals, who saw their season-high winning streak end at four games. Vitek Vanecek yielded four goals on 18 shots before being pulled late in the second period for Ilya Samsonov, who stopped six of the seven shots he faced.

Wild 5, Coyotes 1

Mats Zuccarello and Jordan Greenway each netted one goal and one assist to lead Minnesota to a victory over Arizona in Glendale, Ariz.

Rookie goaltender Kaapo Kahkonen made 24 saves while Marcus Foligno and Kirill Kaprizov each collected two assists for the Wild, who snapped a two-game losing skid. Minnesota's Nick Bjugstad, Kevin Fiala and Brad Hunt also scored. Kahkonen has won six consecutive games while stopping 152 of 162 shots.

Clayton Keller scored and Antti Raanta made 22 saves for the Coyotes, who have lost three of four games and have dropped three consecutive home games.
