(Reuters) - Russia's central bank on Saturday said it has decided not to reopen stock market trading on the Moscow Exchange from March 14-18, with the exception of some non-open-market transactions an transactions using the SPFI payment system.

It said the foreign exchange market, money market and repo market would open at 0700 GMT on those days. The bank said it would announce the operating mode for the following week at a later date.

Better close it permanently, soon there's nothing left of any value in there anyway. russia has lost
Lmao russia soooo strong they cant even open their financial markets!
They can't open because the centralbank of Bolshevik couldnt handle the capital flight, which would plummet the ruble. They don't have access to that amount of reserves in foreign currency.
Ofcourse not, russian stocks have lost all value...
It is better to keep it closed longer time.
Must be about to ramp up the war effort.
More know stocks will collapse by 80%-90% once they are open causing panic in the whole system and a run on the banks. The Russian stock market has been closed since late Feb with any Russian shares floated outside of Russia collapsing.
all shares are dropping not just Russian
Shares in Europe / USA have fallen about 4%-5% since the invasion - Russian stocks trading outside of Russa have collapsed by 80%+ which is why stock market has been closed for 2 weeks
Nice to see they are not messing around with it will be closed for just one more day - go full LME and shut it for a week - got any nickle anyone!
it can shut for 6 months. not to worry Russian will bounce don't worry about any investment in Russia as its temp phase. I have been told that Indian market was shut down for 6months in 70s due to war now see India shine
If Puketin keeps this up Mother Russia will be dust and ash in 6 months.
So you are saying Russia will recover in 50 years? good lol
in America they don't swipe your money by closing markets, they do it through inflation and the legislation they get away with passing after fooling people into believing there's actually fact behind all the lies they utter to gain popular support.
The Moscow exchange is almost certainly a dead market and I would write off any investment you had in Russian firms. The current regime has set Russia's economy back a century and even if they stand trial for the war crimes they have committed and repay the damages in full, it will still take decades of work for anyone from the Western world to have enough faith to invest in Russia again.
Money is going to Re-arming the Wiermacht to make sure the extremist regime is undone once and for all.
Money might have a short memory, but investors who have gotten their investments wiped out because of policy choice of a country have a VERY long memory. I would not touch Russia with a ten foot pole for many, many years.
thats the tax rebate/credit stuff - whoever replaces putin will make it up out of confiscated corrupt oligarch cash!
Bolshevik exchange is a more accurate name
so why invest in a country where they can hold your money hostage?
Bolshevik market. It will be closed for 70years like the last time.

Putin is guilty of many crimes, but inflation is a crime foisted on us by this administration!
By this Putin administration
inflation was on the horizon no matter who was going to be running the country - its the money hangover that follows massive financial injection which started before Biden got in by the way and was ultimately the long term effect of the Bush wars and poor policy that led to the 2008/9 crash - going to be a long time fixing the GOP mess!
they are cowards not to open the market
Lol, so that foreigners can run away with their money ? Didn't think of sanctions ?
keeping market shut off is a very good decision by russia. they don't want foreign money to let go..
