China says it hopes U.S. can create conditions for trade talks

BEIJING (Reuters) - China's foreign ministry reiterated on Tuesday that it had not heard of any recent telephone call between the United States and China on trade, and said it hopes Washington can stop its wrong actions and create conditions for talks.

Ministry spokesman Geng Shuang made the comment at a news briefing, after U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said there had been contact between the two sides but declined to say with whom.

U.S. President Donald Trump on Monday predicted a trade deal with China, citing what he described as increasing economic pressure on Beijing and job losses in China.

china is giving mixed signals i thought they werent gonna stand down on their position..and now we hope they meet conditions for talks..sounds like they dont want to sound weak in front of their citizens.
so you're telling me when the market goes down the us uses positive trade news to pump the market? lol
I thi there are more Chinese billionaires than American. Trump hates he is not one of them.
Why would he want to be Chinese? lol
when trump stops outright lies about phone calls and meetings...who are we kidding, that will never happen
You guys read too much fake news like Fox News etc. The alrernative news I read said China is going full force and will be the center of the world for production for decades and centuries out. Their Belt and Road will completely dominate trades across Asia, Europe, and everywhere. China will become the engine of worldwide prosuctions. Trump and US is trying so hard to contain China's rise, but their time is coming. Warren Buffett said China has found their secret sauce.
Agent Wong, good job. Now turn off the Pekin Rose propaganda radio for today. Thank you.
I hope trump keep on and cut trade with china entirely china will loose
Its very exciting to know whether Trump was misinformed, confident lying or just dont understand and tried to brawl. Whatever his analysis was yesterday, clearly he was wrong. China just wants US to behave, and until US makes a real step toward better negot environment, none will move. Sadly
Excellent. The American people want full disengagement, and are no longer in the mood to negotiate anyway.
Let me guess. You don't believe in vaccination either. If you're going to believe in fairy tales and half truths you might as well go all the way.
I told you guys ... China got Trump cornered and checkmate. He's got go where to run. China understand the yin and yang of negotiations. If Trump goes hard, China will go soft and not talk with him to balance out the energy. When Trump feels tight pressure, then he will have to losen up and then China will come back and deal with him. That is why, China holds all the card and have this total under control. That is why China is the Lion, she will choose when and where to roar. When China Roar, everyone listens.
agreed Chinese move is calculated while they see there's an amount of risk for Trump on 2020 election
But china did not go soft, Trump invented a mood, China will retaliate and now the currency and rare material will be extremely hurtfull for US
Right. There are plenty of lions in the zoo roaring all tough and mighty.
Who is losing 1M jobs per month?
Hes taking to his voters, because they start feeling the costs of the trade policy.I dont think the job market in China is particulary hurt (+6% GDP growth).Fake facts from the president or poor advisors
They will sacrifice their people for the sake of pride and the roar of course.
This is exactly how not to behave when your country is losing a million jobs per moth.
. You got this Kevin. Dig deep.
China is the Warren Buffett of trade. China thinks long term, decades out, and have a grand plan. Short term this and that does not affect them. So short job goes up and down has no affect. Long term, China will always be a powerhouse in manufacturing. No countries can match China's infrastructure, workforce skills, and low pay at high quality. China has invested trillions into the infrastructure, so it is not possible to replace this anywhere else. Companies will add more capacity for backups in Southeast Asia, but they will never replace the bread and butter of their productions in China.
What will China so with all that production powerhouse and infrastructure if no one wants to deal with them? LOL
