Investment Strategy

The investment seeks capital appreciation. The fund invests substantially all of its assets in the common stock of companies with smaller market capitalizations-generally within the range of companies comprising the Russell 2000® Value Index. It invests, generally, in companies with relatively low price to book value ratios, relatively low price to earnings ratios and relatively high dividend yields (dividend yields for small companies are generally less than those of large companies).

He also designed Wilshire Compass, Wilshire’s asset allocation and manager optimization technology for plan sponsors. Upon her resignation, she managed more than $1.7 billion in small-cap value and SMID-cap value equity assets. Previously in her career, Ms. Thomas held the position of Vice President and Senior Portfolio Manager with the Boston Company where she managed institutional portfolios for three years. She also spent seven years at Beneficial Standard Investment Management Company as a Senior Portfolio Manager for the company’s equity funds and outside advisory accounts. Ms. Thomas graduated from Northern Illinois University and received her M.B.A. from University of California at Los Angeles. She earned the designation of Chartered Financial Analyst in 1979. Ms. Thomas is a past president of the Los Angeles Society of Financial Analysts, co-chairman of the FIM-West conference and past chairman of the Long Range Planning Committee.
