Investment Strategy

This Compartment aims to invest directly or indirectly in transferable securities, (described in further detail below) issued by companies and institutions that are based in India or conduct their main business in India. The Compartment will invest a minimum of two-thirds of its total assets/total wealth in equities issued by companies that are headquartered in India or conduct the majority of their business in India. On an ancillary basis, the Compartment may also invest its assets in securities issued by companies that are based in or have their main activity in Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.

Biography Oliver D.M. Bell has been chairman of the committee since 2014. He joined T. Rowe Price in 2011 and his investment experience dates from 1997. He has served as a portfolio manager since joining the Firm. Prior to joining T. Rowe Price, Mr. Bell worked for Pictet Asset Management Ltd where he served as an emerging markets research manager (beginning in 1997), a portfolio manager for Africa and Middle East portfolios and other emerging markets strategies (beginning in 2000), and Head of Global Emerging Markets Research (beginning in 2009). Prior to joining Pictet in 1997, Oliver worked for Derwent Information, a scientific and patent information company, for five years as a Project Manager in their Business Solutions Group. He was involved in the management of operational improvement projects, the majority of which were software development projects. Oliver graduated in 1992 with a BSc(Hons) in Chemistry from the University of Exeter. Oliver holds the Investment Management Certificate and is currently a candidate in the Association for Investment Management and Research CFA programme, Level I.

Biography Nidhi Mahurkar is Co-Head of the Global Emerging Markets Equities team in charge of investment in Asian Emerging Markets and has responsibility for regional Asian mandates. She joined Pictet Asset Management in 2001 with five years of previous experience managing Asian equities at Lazard Asset Management, where she was industry leader for technology for Lazard’s global emerging markets product. Before joining Lazard, she worked with American Express in London. Nidhi holds a BA (Hons) in Economics and an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management in Bangalore.

Biography Richard Ormond is an Investment Manager in the smaller companies and emerging markets team. After joining the Bank in 1990 he spent two years in Geneva with responsibility for European Indexed Funds and performance analysis for the Strategic Investment Committee. He joined the Adviser's office in 1992 and is currently responsible for the Adviser's proprietary database, analyzing smaller companies and emerging markets.
