Investment Strategy

The investment seeks to provide high current income exempt from regular federal income tax and California state personal income tax. The fund normally invests at least 80% of the fund's net assets will be invested in instruments that pay income that is exempt from California state personal income tax. Except in extraordinary circumstances, at least 80% of its net assets will be invested in debt instruments that pay interest that is exempt from regular federal income tax. The fund's dollar-weighted average maturity will range between ten and thirty years.
