Investment Strategy

The investment seeks maximum long-term total return, consistent with reasonable risk to principal, by investing primarily in investment grade debt securities of varying maturities. The fund invests at least 80% of its net assets in fixed-income securities. Securities in which it invests may pay interest on either a fixed-rate or variable-rate basis. The fund’s portfolio can be expected to have an average effective duration ranging between three and eight years, although its sub-adviser may lengthen or shorten the fund’s portfolio duration outside this range depending on its evaluation of market conditions.
