Investment Strategy

The investment seeks positive absolute returns. The fund seeks to achieve its investment objectives using two principal strategies, a Futures Strategy and a Fixed Income Strategy. To pursue its Futures Strategy, the advisor intends to invest up to 25% of its total assets in the Subsidiary. It generally invests between 70-95% of its assets pursuant to the Fixed Income Strategy and/or in cash and cash equivalents, although the fund reserves the right to invest up to 100% of its assets pursuant to the Fixed Income Strategy and/or in cash and cash equivalents.

She has extensive experience on the trading side and spends a lot of time speaking with clients. Biography Cole Wilcox leads the executive management team at Longboard. He has been involved in all development phases of the firm since its founding in 2010. Mr. Wilcox is a recognized leader in the alternative investment industry, with over 21 years of experience operating hedge fund investment strategies. He leads Longboard's Investment Committee and serves as a portfolio manager for all funds. He wrote the foreword to the second edition of 'The Little Book of Trading' and has co-authored several leading research papers on alternative investment strategies. Mr. Wilcox is a graduate of the Owner / President Management Program at Harvard Business School.

Biography Michael Striano is a Portfolio Manager and Director of Trading Operations at Longboard Asset Management. He brings nearly twenty-five years of managed futures industry experience to Longboard’s Investment Operations group. Before joining Longboard, Mr. Striano was Senior Vice President of Operations for Chesapeake Capital Corporation. Mr. Striano has extensive experience in trading, investment and back office operations. His oversight of trading and the reconciliation of trades against orders placed helps to ensure the most prompt and accurate trade execution for Longboard’s mutual funds. Additionally, Mr. Striano monitors and manages the firm’s margin requirements. Mr. Striano also contributes market insights to the Longboard sales and marketing teams, including the monthly fund commentaries. Mr. Striano graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Siena College.

Biography Eric Crittenden became Chief Investment Officer and Portfolio Manager of Standpoint Asset Management, LLC in August 2019. He was Co-CIO and Co-Portfolio Manager for Longboard Asset Management from August 2011 to August 2018, and the Director of Research for Blackstar Funds from May 2003 to August 2011. Eric was a Research Analyst and Portfolio Manager for a Kansas-based family office and an Arizona-based hedge fund from November 1999 to May 2003. He graduated summa cum laude from Wichita State University in 1999 with a BBA in Finance.
Jason Klatt Director of Trading Operations 2012 2015
Biography Jason Klatt is responsible for establishing and implementing, together with Longboard’s Chief Executive Officer, the firm’s operational strategies. He oversees and directs Longboard’s business, financial, product, sales and marketing operations. He has also collaborated with Mr. Crittenden to seamlessly integrate Longboard’s research platform with efficient trade execution technologies. Mr. Klatt designed Longboard’s liquidity-maximization algorithms that significantly lower Longboard’s cost of participation in global futures markets. He has over a decade of data modeling experience and is directly involved in the ongoing testing, development, and implementation of Longboard’s managed futures trend following strategies. Prior to joining Longboard, Mr. Klatt designed electrical power optimization and risk management systems for industrial and commercial energy users. He developed models to balance electrical power systems and optimized processes to improve energy efficiency and protect mission critical electrical and electronic equipment. Earlier in his career, Mr. Klatt was a product engineer at Medtronic, an electronic medical devices design and manufacturing company. He received his B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Northern Arizona University and holds a Series 3 Commodity Futures License and Series 65 Uniform Investment Adviser Law Examination License. Jason Klatt assists in the testing and development of the firm’s trading strategies. Mr. Klatt has 10 years of data modeling experience and is proficient in multiple programming languages and software platforms including MATLAB and the firm’s proprietary research platform.

Biography Ms. King joined Horizon Cash Management L.L.C in 2005 as a portfolio manager and has served as a Senior Vice President and Senior Portfolio Manager since 2011. Ms. King directs investment management operation, overseeing several portfolio managers and the firm’s portfolio analyst. Ms. King is experienced in all sectors of the fixed income universe, including U.S. Treasury and Agencies issues, high grade corporate bonds, high yield and emerging market debt. Before joining the Subadvisor in 2005, Ms. King served as managing director at Melvin Securities, where she managed the firm’s investment banking effort and directed the fixed income sales, trading and syndicate department. Prior to that, she served 13 years at First Union Securities, where she established and managed the Emerging Market desk and was a key member of the high yield trading team.
