Investment Strategy

The investment seeks current income consistent with preservation of capital through investment in high- and medium-grade fixed income securities. Under normal circumstances, the fund invests at least 80% of its assets in bonds. It may principally invest in U.S. treasury obligations, U.S. government agency securities, corporate bonds, asset-backed securities, mortgage-backed securities, mortgage-related securities, and structured instruments. The effective average weighted maturity ordinarily will be three years or less.
