Investment Strategy

The Fund follows a flexible asset allocation policy that seeks to provide income without sacrificing long term capital growth in a manner consistent with the principles of environmental, social and governance “ESG” focused investing. The Fund invests globally in the full spectrum of permitted investments including (but not limited to) equities, equityrelated securities, fixed income transferable securities (which may include some high yield fixed income transferable securities), units of CIS, cash, deposits and money market instruments. Currency exposure is flexibly managed.

He was responsible for the equity and commodity allocations across his team's book of business and was a portfolio manager on their flagship mutual fund, BlackRock Multi-Asset Income. He was a co-manager on many other approaches, including mandates focusing on Global Tactical Asset Allocation, and he also headed up the group’s Global Research team. He started his professional career at Deutsche Bank (1999 – 2001) before joining Merrill Lynch Investment Managers in the UK in 2005. Biography Adam Ryan, Managing Director and portfolio manager, is a member of the BlackRock Multi-Asset Client Solutions (BMACS) group, which is responsible for developing, assembling and managing investment solutions involving multiple strategies and asset classes. Within BMACS he is lead portfolio manager of the Diversified Growth Strategy and also a member of the BMACS management team. Mr. Ryan's service with the firm dates back to 1999, including his years with Merrill Lynch Investment Managers (MLIM), which merged with BlackRock in 2006. At MLIM, Mr. Ryan was head of the fixed income and absolute return team for the private client business. He was responsible for the team's fixed income investment policy, representing the asset class at the Investment Policy Committee, and the use of alternative investments within private client portfolios.

In 2006, Andy joined the multi-asset team at BlackRock where he was responsible for managing absolute and relative return mandates, as well as the head of research specialising in equity thematic views and risk premia strategies. Andy has an MSc in Finance from Leicester University and is a CFA charterholder. Andy plays in a rock band in his spare time and enjoys playing, writing and recording music.
