Investment Strategy

The Sub Fund aims to achieve capital growth over the long term (5 years or more). The Sub-Fund will invest at least 80% in equity (company shares) and equity-related securities (such as common and preferred stock, American depositary receipts, global depository receipts) and real estate investment trusts (“REIT”s) listed or traded on Eligible Markets located in the United States.

Biography John is Newton’s chief investment officer and head of equity. John is responsible for overseeing all equity strategies. He is also lead portfolio manager for the US Small, Mid and Large Cap Growth Equity strategies. Biography Simon joined Newton straight from University as a Global Industrial Analyst in the Research Department and now manages the US Funds. Simon completed the MDA City Graduate training program in 1997 and passed his Investment Management Certificate in 1998. He became a CFA charterholder in 2001. Simon also represents the equity fund managers on the Derivatives Control Group, which analyses the risk of the derivative positions within Newton.

Biography Robert has been lead manager of the Newton Concentrated Global Equity strategy. In late March 2020 it was announced Rob would move into the Newton equity income team during Q2 2020 to work with the team on Newton global equity income strategies. Robert began his career in the private client investment division at Newton in 2000 and has managed a variety of global equity mandates. Robert has an MA from Edinburgh University, a Master’s in European Business from the EAP European School of Management in Paris and is a CFA charterholder. Outside of work, Robert enjoys spending time outdoors with his young family and is looking forward to travelling with them as they get older.

Biography Patricia Brisdon joined Newton Investment Management in June 1999, as Head of US Investments. Prior to joining Newton, Patricia worked for five years at Desdner RCM Global Investors UK, where she was a Director/US Global Fund Manager and ran the S&P Fund Research frAA rated North American Unit Trust.
