Investment Strategy

The investment seeks total return. The fund invests at least 80% of its net assets (plus any borrowings for investment purposes) in a portfolio of preferred and debt securities issued by U.S. and non-U.S. companies. It also will invest at least 25% of its net assets in the financial sector. The fund may invest without limit in securities of non-U.S. companies, which may be non-U.S. dollar denominated, including up to 15% of the fund's net assets in securities issued by companies domiciled in emerging market countries.

Biography Martin Cohen, co-chairman and co-CEO, is a senior portfolio manager for all of Cohen & Steers’ portfolios, and is a member of the firm’s investment committee. Prior to co-founding the firm in 1986 with Mr. Steers, Mr. Cohen was a senior vice president and portfolio manager at National Securities and Research Corporation from 1984 to 1986, where, in 1985, he and Mr. Steers organized and managed the nation’s first real estate securities mutual fund. From 1976 to 1981, Mr. Cohen was a vice president at Citibank, serving as an analyst and portfolio manager.
