U.S. stock futures are higher this morning. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average surged 94 points to 12,597.00 and S&P 500 index futures rose 10 points to 1,332.00. Nasdaq 100 futures gained 19.75 points to 2,576.75.
U.S. stocks closed higher on Friday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average surging 0.75% to 12,554.20, the S&P 500 index rising 0.81% to 1,325.66 and the Nasdaq 100 index gaining 0.97% to 2,858.42.
Finisar Corp (NASDAQ: FNSR) is projected to report its FQ4 earnings at $0.21 per share on revenue of $242.6 million. Majesco Entertainment Co (NASDAQ: COOL) is estimated to post its FQ2 EPS at $0.08 on revenue of $30.04 million. Shanda Games Limited (NASDAQ: GAME) is estimated to post its Q1 earnings at $0.20 per share on revenue of $220.96 million.
Credo Petroleum Corp (NASDAQ: CRED) is projected to post its Q2 earnings at $0.15 per share. Synergetics USA Inc (NASDAQ: SURG) is expected to post its Q3 EPS at $0.04 on revenue of $14.52 million.
W.W. Grainger Inc (NYSE: GWW) is projected to report sales results for May.
Shares of Optical Cable Corp (NASDAQ: OCC) jumped 30.14% on Friday after the company reported a 28% surge in its second-quarter sales.
European markets were higher today. The STOXX Europe 600 Index gained 1.37%, London's FTSE 100 Index moved up 0.98%, French CAC 40 index rose 1.65% and German DAX 30 index gained 1.86%.
Asian markets ended mostly higher, with Japan's Nikkei Stock Average rising 1.96%, and China's Shanghai Composite rising 1.07%. Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index rose 2.44% and India's Sensex dropped 0.30%.
July crude-oil futures gained $1.09 to $85.19 a barrel, while gold for August delivery climbed $2.60 to $1,594.10.
The euro rose to $1.2595, versus $1.2512 late Friday in North American trading.
