M/A-Com Technology Solutions Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ:MTSI) , a primary supplier of semiconductor products, recently announced the launch of its MAGe-102425-300, a 300W GaN on Silicon rugged power transistor in lucrative plastic packaging optimized for use in commercial scale solid-state radio frequency (RF) energy applications.

Based on the company’s Gen4 GaN technology, the new product delivers performance that defies the inherent power competence and density limitations of LDMOS. This new product is available at a reasonable price at scaled volume production levels.

The product leverages solid-state RF energy as a highly proficient and exact heat and power source for a wide array of commercial applications, which include microwave ovens, automotive ignition, lighting systems and industrial, scientific and medical (ISM) applications.

The solid-state RF energy technology is set to transform the entire market segment, providing wide-ranging benefits from consumer goods to ISM systems and infrastructure. This product is not just cost efficient but is also technologically highly advanced, which will set M/A-Com apart from its peers, leading to likely higher revenues.

The company is slated to launch this new product at the International Microwave Symposium 2016 (IMS), to be held from May 22-27 in San Francisco.

Headquartered in Lowell, MA, M/A-Com provides analog semiconductor solutions for use in wireless and wireline applications across the RF, microwave and millimeterwave spectrum. The company's primary markets are community antenna television (CATV), cellular backhaul, cellular infrastructure and fiber optic applications, aerospace and defense (A&D) and multi-market, which includes automotive, industrial, medical, mobile and scientific applications. M/A-Com has its offices across North America, Europe, Asia and Australia.

M/A-Com sports a Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy). Some other favorably ranked stocks in the industry include Microchip Technology Inc. (NASDAQ:MCHP) , Silicon Laboratories Inc. (NASDAQ:SLAB) and Monolithic Power Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:MPWR) . All three stocks carry the same Zacks Rank as M/A-Com.
