It was a strange day on Wall Street on Tuesday, with a strong opening, and then a strong run-up, a rollover, a midday consolidation, and a very nasty close. A lot of stocks we follow did well, however, so we’re going to take a look at them.
Capnia Inc (NASDAQ:CAPN), which I’m showing you because it had a very quiet, narrow inside day on Tuesday, was up 10 cent, on 193,700 shares. It held support, and if this is a 3-day consolidation above the breakout point, it has to get up through 8.24-.25 area. If it gets through that, we’ll see a run at 9-10, and then we’re off to the races.
Cyberark Software Ltd (NASDAQ:CYBR), and the cyber-security stocks in general, took off on Tuesday with the problems in Washington that apparently were cyber attacks. With the pop of 4.47 to 59.45, or 8%, on 4.1 million shares in a declining market, this stock did not give it up. It looks like it's going to test as early as Wednesday the 63 1/2 range, and maybe it will go back to 70 to test the old high. However, the long-term channel has this stock heading up toward 85-90, potentially, if the market cooperates.
Second Sight Medical Products (NASDAQ:EYES) had an interesting day on Tuesday. After the big run in Feb-Mar, it pulled back down in a falling wedge, tested the 50, broke through on Monday, and on Tuesday, it reversed and was up 1.00 to 12.62, or 8.6%, on 602,700. If it can get above 13, look for it to reach up towards the 14.75-.88-15.00 area. The volume wasn’t heavy, so I would like to see better volume.
Orexigen Therapeutics Inc (NASDAQ:OREX), which I put a swing on late in the day on Tuesday, had popped, formed a falling wedge, broke out, flagged, and on Tuesday, surged on 5 million shares, but then backed off. It was up 12 cents to 7.93, reaching a high of 8.13. The target is 9-9 1/4 short-term. Beyond that, the target is 11.
