BorgWarner Inc. (NYSE:BWA) has opened a state-of-the-art technical center in Noblesville, IN. The 100,000-sq-ft technical center strengthens the research and development capabilities of this Michigan-based company to cope with rising customer demand. The new center consolidates two existing Indiana facilities, placed at Anderson and Pendleton, and is expected to help in augmenting the company’s hybrid and electric product portfolio, through improved testing and prototype building capabilities.

This well-planned open concept office space is aimed at fostering employee relationship and creativity. This will, in turn, assist BorgWarner in consolidating its position as a global leader in offering clean and efficient vehicle propulsion solutions.

The new technical center’s lab will execute testing and prototype building while enhancing BorgWarner’s rising electrified portfolio. With a blend of new and existing resources, the Noblesville location will help in the development of different power electronics products as well as the company’s motor, alternator and starter products.

BorgWarner is a global leader in clean and efficient technology solutions, required for combustion, hybrid and electric vehicles. Its products include four-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive transfer cases (primarily for light trucks and sport utility vehicles or SUVs) as well as automatic transmission and timing chain systems. Over the past six months, shares of the company underperformed the industry it belongs to. Over the time period, shares of the company lost 5.1% whereas the industry gained 4.1%.
