Avis' (CAR) Budget Car Rental Starts Operations In Taiwan

Avis Budget Group, Inc. (NASDAQ:CAR) , through its Budget Car Rental, has launched vehicle rental services in Taiwan. Budget Taiwan is an independently-owned and operated licensee of Budget Car Rental. It is operated by Anweisi Car Rental Company Ltd, which has years of experience in offering variety of mobility services on the island.

Avis Budget’s new facilities are presently located in Taoyuan international airport, Taichung international airport, Kaohsiung international airport and Taipei’s main station.

The company offers business houses, leisure travelers and Taiwanese community, a simple rental process with high value services and quality cars. This is in sync with the company’s focus on expanding its global presence by increasing the number of company-operated locations in fast-growing markets. The company also invests in other growing markets where car rental demand is on the rise.

Avis Budget fleet in Taiwan consists of automatic-transmission vehicles from manufacturers such as Ford and Volkswagen (DE:VOWG_p). Apart from this, the company provides truck rentals and related services to consumers and light commercial users in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Latin America, the Caribbean and parts of Asia.

Over the years, it has been fortifying its fleet with latest car models to attract customers. Customers also benefit from friendly service and an array of optional products and services including mobile Wi-Fi, global positioning system navigation devices, child safety seats, vehicle damage coverage options and personal property protection packages.

The company's fundamental drivers such as sustained productivity growth, implementation of pricing initiatives and potential revenue-generating happenings are likely to bode well for the future. Avis Budget’s expansion strategy has been in full swing via alliances, acquisitions and joint ventures. By expanding footprint in various countries, it has widened its global network and coverage to almost all the major regions of the world. The company is particularly focused on expanding its Budget brand, taking its multi-brand strategy to the next level.

Avis Budget’s shares have outperformed the industry in the last three months with an average return of 6.6% against a decline of 3.7% for the latter.
