Investment Strategy

The investment objective of the fund is to achieve capital growth and generate an income through diversified investment in equities of Asia-Pacific Companies (excluding the equities of Japanese Companies). Investments may be made in ordinary shares (including ADRs, EDRs and GDRs), preferred shares and up to 25 per cent. of the total assets of the fund may be invested in Convertible Debt Securities. The Fund’s investment strategy shall not be specific to any particular industry sector or country. The fund may utilise any of the financial derivative instruments described in the section entitled “Investment Techniques and Instruments” for efficient portfolio management purposes.

Biography Alena joined Waverton in 2016 as an Equity Analyst within the Waverton Global Fund team, transferring to the Asia-Pacific equities team at the start of 2017. During this time, she specialised in company research within developed Asia including Hong Kong, China, Singapore and Australasia. In February 2021, Alena became the Lead Manager of the Waverton Asia Pacific Fund. She is also Assistant Fund Manager of the Waverton Global Equity Fund. Prior to her role at Waverton, Alena worked at EY LLP as an Assistant Tax Advisor within their US-UK Private Client Tax team. Alena graduated from the University of Oxford in 2014 with a Master's degree in Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry, holds the Investment Management Certificate (IMC) and is a CFA Charterholder.

Biography William joined Waverton in November 2013 . Prior to joining Waverton he was a director at Active Capital Management, which specialises in quantitative trading. Biography Alan is our Asian specialist and advisor; he graduated from Oxford in 1974 and joined Jardine Fleming in Hong Kong. During the next eleven years, Alan launched and managed a range of specialist Asian funds both for Jardine Fleming and Save & Prosper, part of the Fleming Group. In 1986 he joined Robert Fleming Securities as a founding member of their Asian broking business. He moved to South China Securities in 1997 as Managing Director and joined the company in September 2005 specialising in Asian portfolios and funds. He is a member of the Asset Allocation Committee.
