Investment Strategy

The investment objective of the Sub-Fund is to achieve superior risk-adjusted returns by investing primarily in high yield bonds issued by European issuers and on an ancillary basis in high yield bonds denominated in European currencies issued by North American issuers. The Sub-Fund is actively managed with reference to the benchmark ICE BofAML Global HY European Iss. Non-Fin. Excl. Russia (TR) (EUR-H). While the Sub-Fund has a reference benchmark, it is actively managed by implementing the investment philosophy and process described in this section. The Investment Manager has an ample degree of freedom to deviate from the benchmark.

Biography Ms. Jones joined Oaktree’s London office in 2003 and serves as portfolio manager for the European High Yield Bond and European Senior Loan strategies, and co-portfolio manager for the Global High Yield Bond strategy. Before joining Oaktree, Ms. Jones spent more than three years at Deutsche Bank AG in London as a senior associate in the Leveraged Debt Origination Group specializing in loan, mezzanine and high yield bond financings to support European leveraged buyouts. Prior thereto, she spent two years in the Acquisition Finance Group at Natwest Group plc. Ms. Jones received a B.A. degree in economics from the University of Durham, England. Biography Mr. Shackleton joined Oaktree’s London office in 2004 and serves as co-portfolio manager for the European High Yield Bond and Global High Yield Bond strategies, as well as the European Credit product. Mr. Shackleton previously worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP in the UK, where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant. Mr. Shackleton is a graduate of the University of Oxford.

Biography Mr. Turner joined Oaktree in 2001 and serves as portfolio manager for the European High Yield Bond strategy, co-portfolio manager for the Global High Yield Bond and European Senior Loan strategies and assistant portfolio manager for the European CLO strategy. Over the years he has covered a wide range of sectors and invested through a number of financial cycles. Previously, he was employed by Schroder Salomon Smith Barney as an associate in both the Mergers & Acquisitions and Financial Sponsors divisions, working on a number of high profile public transactions. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Deloitte & Touche and is an honours graduate of the University of Nottingham, England.
