Sugar industry developments in Africa are increasingly drawing the attention of the international community. Continued changes to trade bloc arrangements, and investments needed to improve production and refining are rapidly influencing the shape of the sugar industry. Privatization in Kenya is of particular interest, with the Government having sought a further two-year extension of the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) safeguard measures.
All this and more will be debated at the 2nd Africa Sugar Outlook 2012, the ONLY such conference of its kind in the region.
