Interview with Chris Capre - Founder of Second Skies

Interview with Chris Capre - Founder of Second Skies

1.    What is your name and position in the company?

Chris Capre - Founder Second Skies LLC (2ndSkiesForex.com) and current Fund Manager for White Knight Investments

2.    What is your professional background?

I have been trading the Equity and Forex markets for the last seven years but focusing on Forex and Futures for the last five.  In 2005 I worked for FXCM in their Education and Sales division and in 2006 started trading for the JNF Hedge Fund.  I was the only trader there hired outside of the fund who was not trained internally.  It was in the beginning of 2007 I started Second Skies to work with traders and help take their trading to the next level.

3.    Could you please describe the solutions your company offers for the Forex market?

The primary services Second Skies offers is Education via Private Mentoring, Trade Signals and Market Research using our proprietary models.  What I am most concerned with is empowering traders to become profitable, consistent and confident they have the tools to trade successfully.  I get a lot of traders who come from trade rooms whereby they learn from an online trading format with no direct verbal one-on-one communication or private mentoring.  For many people that works for them, but for others it does not as they need someone to work with them personally, understand their strengths/weaknesses, tailor the education to where they are at.  From my experiences in education, people will accelerate their learning curve by working with someone one-on-one as I am pouring all my energy, training and experience into them.

4.    What kind of training is needed in order to use your software?

We do not rely upon software for our clients other than working with broker platforms and professional charting packages via FXTrek Intellicharts.  Thus, with the absence of technological tools needed to trade, people can catch on quick.

5.    Who is your targeted audience?

Currently i've been working a lot with Forex and Futures traders anywhere from the beginner to professional trader who wants to increase their edge.  I am also starting to work more with options traders as the Ichimoku models I use are exceptionally powerful for gauging volatility and determining excellent strike prices.  In the near future I will be working with large investment groups in a small classroom setting providing education on how to trade the Forex and Futures markets.

6.    Who are your main competitors in the Forex Software market?

As an educator, my primary goal is to build successful traders.  Anyone else in this field who works with the same intention, passion and care for their students is part of the educational community and not a competitor.  There are many methods to achieve that goal and some of the models I like are Online Trading Academy, FX-Knight and FX-Bootcamp.
I get many students from other programs and if I feel a student would be better served under another umbrella, I will not hesitate to recommend such a program.  An educators first interest has to be the student's success.

7.    What are the main advantages you have over your competitors?

I feel our strongest advantage is the one-on-one private mentoring we offer.  Our trade signals are incredibly successful and did well over 3000pips last year but I want to teach people how to fish for themselves.

Think of a how people become great at what they do?  Yes, they have to practice intensely on all aspects of their game, but you cannot learn to hit a 90mph baseball or become a concert pianist without individual coaching and mentoring.  Its been that way for professional athletes, world-class musicians, martial artists or anyone who wants to excel at a particular skill for thousands of years.

Just this last year two of my private students have gone from trading mini accounts to become professional traders for public and private funds.  One of them works for a $400+million dollar fund in Florida and the other is managing $93million dollars in Europe.  There is nothing which makes me happier than to hear about my students success and them moving on to trading for professional funds.  When that happens, I feel I have done my job.

From a business standpoint, it is not the most efficient model as I spend a lot of time working with students individually and my business consultant is always reminding me of that fact.  Ideally, I'd like to have a total passive income business model and I am getting closer to that each year, however I am in the business of educating students and building successful traders - thus I will take the time as the students come.

8.    What kind of support do you offer to your clients?

I offer direct one-on-one support for all of my clients.  I know each and every one of them and work to give them support as quick as I can.  I have people who work for me but when it comes to working with clients, I speak with them directly and I want that relationship, very similar to how a small business owner wants to know and meet their clients.  I enjoy the personal relationships and working with people directly.

9.    Would your software solutions work for beginners as well?

The only software we work with to help traders in their process is the charting package via FX Trek.  Most of the broker platforms have substandard charting programs and the code in those platforms is not dedicated to charting.  That is why anyone wanting to trade professionally will need excellent charting tools and I feel FX Trek has the most powerful yet easy-to-use interface that makes the charting experience enjoyable and not work.  It is incredibly intuitive and anyone who gets their software loves it for the large amounts of data it has (up to 30years), the customization and ease of use.  It is because of this beginners have a solution for their charting needs.
