China cutting interest rates sound familiar? "Deflationary cycles, once entrenched, can stall investment for years or even decades, as the case of Japan highlights, and is considered a nightmare scenario by many economists in China." Made in China plastic beach ball losing air. Not quite the economic threat to the U S as some thought.

This won't teach you how to be a good trader, and is very outdated, but it is immensely inspirational: www.dailymotion.com/video/x27411x_trader-the-documentary-featuring-paul-tudor-jones_videogames

"I'm watching the currencies, I'm watching crude, I'm watching stocks and bonds: they are all interrelated. The whole world is nothing but a big flow chart for capital." — Paul Tudor Jones (how can you not love this guy?)

The videos on this site satisfy the heart, Snoot. I was uplifted listening to Paul and feeling his excitement. The narrator is a gem too. I can play one of these and not feel so alone in what I'm trying to do. I'm glad you shared.

Will look for more things to watch like "Traders by the Millions."

Perfect example of how tiny a world I've lived in. Never connected with John Paul Tudor before googling all he has to offer and reading news about him. His words really speak to me as I expect Ari Kiev and Al Brooks will. I will have plenty to keep me busy when those books arrive. So, now that I'm loaded with answers to explore and implement, I'm free to listen rather than talk. (I heard that big sigh of relief!) LOL

You might be hesitant to help me learn. I can understand why you would. I just want you to know that I think you all have much to offer. My posts may bug you sometimes, but I have a long-term agenda you might appreciate. I have a step-daughter who is VERY smart. She can't work due to car accident. She is on SSI. If I can learn how to trade successfully, I plan to pass it forward to her so she can feel like she is contributing to her household. It's a dignity thing.

Peg, If you want to trade successfully you need to have a $50 000 account and risk no more than 3% of that capital on any given trade, with a 20% stop loss on those 3% trades , with that set up you can theoretically lose 70% of the time and break even.

You can set things up so that you can actually profit from a 40% win ratio. With the daily MACD bull cross alone you can yield those types of results, but the hardest part is patience and will power. You will be constantly fighting your greed and fear, its tough, easier said than done... You need a rock solid, written in stone plan , you are the casino dealer, not the player.

If she is VERY smart she'll find the market herself, I've never found a better provider for funds ;)

I cut and pasted the the %'s on a sticky note to remind me of this rule. I've read it before, and agree, but seems I need to get something a few times before it sinks in. Like with "Don't short a bull market!" I took over management of my stock portfolio after the 2008 market fiasco. Almost 66% was lost and it still hasn't fully recovered. Was very scary. I quit trusting full-service brokerage and had to learn that no one cares about my money like I do. That's when I started by reading and following Alex Green. It's just such slow going.
