Guys, here is the magic I'm working on already and Martin Treadwell is talking about (probably working on it as well). According to Warren Buffet, every American can become a millionaire in his/her life time. Buffet is absolutely right about that and all is needed is $2,500 and 15 years. I wish someone told me that when I was 18. . The power of compounding 50% return year over year will get you to $1,094,734. Is 50% return on your money possible trading ETFs - the answer is YES, it is possible and I'm a very good example of that. I aim to generate 50% per year trading ETFs (I'm not even throwing here my trading from futures) and so far in 2015 I'm at 30% with a plenty of room to go. Got to think small and nibble at the market and soon you are looking at the 50% return. Got to control the greed and your emotions here as you got 15 long years to go.

VK, I can't see the rational to trade both ETFs and futures. Isn't it possible to reach your goals trading only futures?
Valdemar Kazana

Yes, this is possible but at some point you are going to have to be very, very successful day trader and need to pull out at least $800 per day for a time period of 8 years. If you do that you can grow your $2,500 to about $1,630,000 (taxes are not taken into consideration here) When you trade ETF's from a tax sheltered account you can compound the gains but when you make $150,000 in your futures account, unless you can cover your taxes from a different source of income it will be difficult for you to compound the gains therefore making your plan to hit 1 million more difficult.

Do you think trading futures is riskier than ETFs? And for larger trade amounts, what would be better, not considering taxes.
