Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Technology, Telecoms and Software sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX fell 0.51%, while the MDAX index lost 0.32%, and the TecDAX index declined 1.35%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Lufthansa AG VNA O.N. (DE:LHAG), which rose 4.29% or 0.421 points to trade at 10.235 at the close. Meanwhile, Allianz SE VNA O.N. (DE:ALVG) added 1.20% or 1.650 points to end at 138.750 and Commerzbank AG O.N. (DE:CBKG) was up 0.96% or 0.055 points to 5.809 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Fresenius SE & Co KGAA O.N. (DE:FREG), which fell 1.76% or 1.240 points to trade at 69.110 at the close. SAP SE (DE:SAPG) declined 1.58% or 1.270 points to end at 79.140 and Prosiebensat 1 Media AG (DE:PSMGn) was down 1.53% or 0.595 points to 38.375.
The top performers on the MDAX were Fraport AG (DE:FRAG) which rose 2.77% to 51.210, Covestro AG (DE:1COV) which was up 1.97% to settle at 53.440 and Aurubis AG (DE:NAFG) which gained 1.89% to close at 51.190.
The worst performers were Deutsche Wohnen AG Inh (DE:DWNG) which was down 2.13% to 29.340 in late trade, GEA Group AG (DE:G1AG) which lost 1.55% to settle at 47.700 and Jungheinrich AG O.N.VZO (DE:JUNG_p) which was down 1.54% to 29.185 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were RIB Software AG Na (DE:RIB) which rose 1.59% to 11.180, Nordex SE O.N. (DE:NDXG) which was up 0.85% to settle at 25.580 and Pfeiffer Vacuum Technology O.N. (DE:PV) which gained 0.58% to close at 84.980.
The worst performers were S&T AG (F:SANT1) which was down 12.84% to 9.250 in late trade, Adva Optical Networking SE (DE:ADAG) which lost 4.82% to settle at 8.816 and Morphosys AG O.N. (DE:MORG) which was down 3.15% to 41.655 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 505 to 345 and 38 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 1.12% to 19.37.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.09% or 1.15 to $1254.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 1.26% or 0.64 to hit $50.15 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.95% or 0.50 to trade at $51.91 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.29% to 1.1022, while EUR/GBP fell 0.97% to 0.9030.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.20% at 97.92.
