Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Retail, Consumer & Cyclical and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 0.21%, while the MDAX index climbed 0.25%, and the TecDAX index climbed 1.03%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Adidas AG NA O.N. (XETRA:ADSGN), which rose 2.76% or 1.960 points to trade at 72.970 at the close. Meanwhile, K & S AG NA O.N. (XETRA:SDFGN) added 1.39% or 0.415 points to end at 30.345 and Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (XETRA:FMEG) was up 1.15% or 0.870 points to 76.580 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Continental AG O.N. (XETRA:CONG), which fell 1.08% or 2.350 points to trade at 215.950 at the close. Deutsche Telekom AG Na (XETRA:DTEGn) declined 0.64% or 0.110 points to end at 17.025 and E.ON SE NA (XETRA:EONGn) was down 0.57% or 0.080 points to 14.030.
The top performers on the MDAX were Metro AG ST O.N. (XETRA:MEOG) which rose 2.41% to 31.285, STADA Arzneimittel VNA O.N. (XETRA:STAGn) which was up 2.26% to settle at 30.935 and Tag Immobilien AG (XETRA:TEGG) which gained 1.94% to close at 12.895.
The worst performers were Kuka AG (XETRA:KU2G) which was down 2.22% to 72.090 in late trade, Salzgitter AG O.N. (XETRA:SZGG) which lost 1.95% to settle at 27.455 and Kloeckner & Co SE NA (XETRA:KCOGn) which was down 1.53% to 8.990 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Pfeiffer Vacuum Technology O.N. (XETRA:PV) which rose 3.41% to 78.900, Morphosys AG O.N. (XETRA:MORG) which was up 3.36% to settle at 56.550 and United Internet AG NA (XETRA:UTDI) which gained 2.73% to close at 42.505.
The worst performers were QSC AG NA O.N. (XETRA:QSCG) which was down 2.61% to 1.868 in late trade, Nemetschek AG O.N. (XETRA:NEKG) which lost 1.89% to settle at 122.150 and Aixtron SE NA O.N. (XETRA:AIXGn) which was down 1.23% to 6.734 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 471 to 266 and 35 ended unchanged.
Shares in Tag Immobilien AG (XETRA:TEGG) rose to 3-year highs; up 1.94% or 0.245 to 12.895. Shares in United Internet AG NA (XETRA:UTDI) rose to all time highs; up 2.73% or 1.130 to 42.505.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 2.10% to 19.42.
Gold for April delivery was down 0.49% or 5.90 to $1198.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 3.19% or 1.64 to hit $49.79 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 2.56% or 1.51 to trade at $57.67 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.28% to 1.0915, while EUR/GBP fell 0.05% to 0.7326.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.10% at 97.45.
