Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic, Telecoms & IT and Building & Construction sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 rose 0.70% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Gas Natural (MC:GAS), which rose 1.64% or 0.305 points to trade at 18.880 at the close. Meanwhile, Cellnex Telecom SA (MC:CLNX) added 1.58% or 0.25 points to end at 16.07 and Repsol (MC:REP) was up 1.49% or 0.175 points to 11.890 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Int.Airl.Grp (MC:ICAG), which fell 1.32% or 0.062 points to trade at 4.620 at the close. Banco Popular (MC:POP) declined 0.48% or 0.006 points to end at 1.233 and Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS) was down 0.32% or 0.018 points to 5.670.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 119 to 57 and 34 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.00% or 0.05 to $1351.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 4.84% or 2.02 to hit $43.73 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 4.79% or 2.11 to trade at $46.16 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.20% to 1.1157, while EUR/GBP rose 0.19% to 0.8608.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.13% at 95.71.
