Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic and Building & Construction sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 added 0.09%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Banco Popular (MC:POP), which rose 3.83% or 0.048 points to trade at 1.300 at the close. Meanwhile, Repsol (MC:REP) added 2.29% or 0.270 points to end at 12.075 and Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS) was up 2.14% or 0.107 points to 5.117 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Int.Airl.Grp (MC:ICAG), which fell 3.36% or 0.169 points to trade at 4.865 at the close. Amadeus IT (MC:AMA) declined 1.72% or 0.690 points to end at 39.385 and Gamesa (MC:GAM) was down 1.38% or 0.255 points to 18.200.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 97 to 87 and 29 ended unchanged.
Gold for August delivery was up 0.90% or 11.85 to $1331.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.84% or 0.84 to hit $44.91 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 1.65% or 0.78 to trade at $46.39 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.04% to 1.1010, while EUR/GBP fell 0.01% to 0.8337.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.13% at 97.03.
