Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Power, Manufacturing and Oil & Gas sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX fell 0.42%.
The best performers of the session on the MICEX were MVideo (MCX:MVID), which rose 3.25% or 8.50 points to trade at 270.30 at the close. Meanwhile, Bashneft ANK ao (MCX:BANE) added 2.98% or 84.0 points to end at 2900.0 and AFK Sistema (MCX:AFKS) was up 2.27% or 0.425 points to 19.125 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Gruppa LSR PAO (MCX:LSRG), which fell 8.84% or 63.5 points to trade at 654.5 at the close. FSK EES (MCX:FEES) declined 7.38% or 0.0070 points to end at 0.0878 and Niznekamskneftekhim ao (MCX:NKNC) was down 3.54% or 1.900 points to 51.800.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 114 to 104 and 21 ended unchanged.
Shares in Bashneft ANK ao (MCX:BANE) rose to all time highs; gaining 2.98% or 84.0 to 2900.0.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was down 1.18% to 36.790.
Gold for June delivery was up 0.85% or 10.40 to $1236.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 2.75% or 1.14 to hit $40.36 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 2.19% or 0.96 to trade at $42.88 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.41% to 66.4063, while EUR/RUB rose 0.81% to 75.071.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.43% at 94.53.
