Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Telecoms and Power sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX added 0.76%.
The best performers of the session on the MICEX were AK Transneft OAO Pref (MCX:TRNF_p), which rose 2.40% or 3700 points to trade at 157800 at the close. Meanwhile, VTB (MCX:VTBR) added 2.14% or 0.0015 points to end at 0.0698 and Sollers (MCX:SVAV) was up 2.08% or 9.0 points to 441.0 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Polyus Gold International Ltd (MCX:PGIL), which fell 2.23% or 4.50 points to trade at 197.00 at the close. Pharmstandard JSC (MCX:PHST) declined 2.22% or 25.0 points to end at 1100.0 and Aeroflot (MCX:AFLT) was down 1.73% or 0.59 points to 33.51.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 126 to 76 and 12 ended unchanged.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was up 1.97% to 44.100.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.21% or 2.30 to $1123.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 1.32% or 0.61 to hit $45.44 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 3.24% or 1.54 to trade at $49.17 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 1.57% to 68.085, while EUR/RUB fell 1.40% to 76.122.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.13% at 96.02.
