Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Telecoms and Manufacturing sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX rose 1.04%.
The best performers of the session on the MICEX were Rostelecom (MCX:RTKM), which rose 6.07% or 5.45 points to trade at 95.25 at the close. Meanwhile, MiMES Rostelekom OAO Pref (MCX:RTKM_p) added 5.07% or 3.17 points to end at 65.67 and Magnit (MCX:MGNT) was up 3.29% or 351.0 points to 11005.0 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Inter rao ees (MCX:IRAO), which fell 4.23% or 0.0490 points to trade at 1.1100 at the close. Bashneft ANK ao (MCX:BANE) declined 3.61% or 71.0 points to end at 1896.0 and MMC Norilsk Nickel (MCX:GMKN) was down 2.54% or 253.0 points to 9701.0.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 95 to 87 and 10 ended unchanged.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was up 1.64% to 37.260.
Gold for August delivery was up 0.25% or 2.90 to $1176.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 3.18% or 1.85 to hit $59.99 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 3.28% or 2.06 to trade at $64.75 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.72% to 55.587, while EUR/RUB fell 0.99% to 62.647.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.03% at 95.25.
